Merck Forest Foundation, Inc.

About the Farm
Merck Forest & Farmland Center is a nonprofit educational organization on a mission to inspire curiosity, love and responsibility toward our natural and working lands. As such, Merck Forest is proud of its long history of making maple syrup from the land and sharing this practice widely. Our sugarbush is also recognized as bird-friendly by Vermont Audubon. An easy walk from our visitor center, our operation overlooks our 60 acre farm- a remnant of a long legacy of farming these lands. Today, beyond the farm, Merck Forest consists of over 3100 acres of largely regenerated, and now mature, forests that we carefully manage for both forest productivity and ecosystem health and resilience. Our syrup and other maple products can be purchased online or in our visitor center, year-round.
